Idemitsu Lubricants America (ILA) designates “Respect for Human Beings” as one of its core principles of management. As such, ILA is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations and to respecting human rights. We support initiatives focused on responsible material sourcing, including Section 1502 on Conflict Minerals of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act as well as guidance provided by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).

Conflict minerals include tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold (3TG), and the ores from which they are derived- regardless of where they are sourced, processed, or sold. As the awareness of the impact of mineral sourcing grows, additional minerals such as cobalt or mica have been added to the scope of responsible sourcing initiatives. ILA does not directly purchase any conflict minerals or minerals identified by the RMI from mines, smelter, or refiners.

ILA expects our suppliers providing us with a material containing a 3TG or the minerals currently in the scope of the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) -including cobalt, mica, lithium, nickel and natural graphite- to source those minerals from socially and environmentally responsible suppliers that do not directly or indirectly contribute to conflict or human rights abuses. For any material containing a 3TG or EMRT minerals, we reserve the right to request the supplier complete the necessary Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT), Extended Minerals Reporting Template, or similar due diligence survey. We expect suppliers to accurately complete the survey in its entirety and verify their own suppliers are sourcing the 3TG or EMRT applicable minerals from socially and environmentally responsible sources. Additionally, we expect our supplier to implement policies and management systems to support compliance and further require their own suppliers adopt similar policies.

A supplier found to be in violation of this policy will be required to implement corrective actions. Continued non-compliance or failure to adequately address concerns may lead to termination of the supplier relationship.

ILA will continue to monitor global developments and emerging requirements related to the responsible sourcing of minerals and will update this policy as appropriate.
